In 2007 Magpul Industries Corp (known in the U.S. arms manufacturer accessories) presented its new development - an assault rifle caliber 5.56h45 mm, under the name of «Masada».
developed in record time (4 months) project "Masada" was originally meant to be a modernized appearance rifles family AR15 / M16. Magpul Masada ACWS
Magpul Masada is one embodiment of a system Magpul Masada ACWS (Adaptive Combat Weapon System - Adaptive Combat Weapons), which allows for minimal time and without the use of tools to change caliber and class of weapon. Magpul Masada ACWS system consists of the following options for weapons:

- AK - Rifle Masada, but by caliber 7.62x39 mm (chuck used in Kalashnikov assault rifle AK-47). Besides the barrel and breech changes in the AC group and a lower receiver.

Shutter bolt carrier and recoil spring are also a separate module, but can be easily disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. The gate is similar in construction to the M16 rifle bolt and AR 180. Locking is done by turning the shutter 8 lugs. The charging handle is attached to the upper receiver from the left side of the receiver, but when necessary can easily be rearranged on the right.
Barrel Magpul Masada made quick-module together with the vapor system. Changing the barrel is made without additional tools. Trunks can be installed from the M16.
the exhaust system borrowed from the rifle AR180, designed by Eugene Stoner and is equipped with three-position gas regulator. As slide group, all parts of the exhaust system can be easily disassembled for cleaning.

All models are presented in the Bushmaster ACR caliber 5.56h45 mm NATO, but maybe add family units under 7.62x39 mm caliber, 7.62x51mm and 6.8x43 mm (6.8 mm Remington SPC).
